Can I wash the walker boot?
- Fabric Liner: The soft fabric liner can be completely removed from the rigid frame. Hand wash it using cold water and mild soap, then allow it to air-dry completely. Do not machine wash or put it in a dryer.
- Plastic Shell: The outer plastic frame and straps can be wiped down with a damp, soapy cloth or sanitizing alcohol wipes.
Do I need to wear a sock with the boot?
Yes, it is highly recommended to wear a long, breathable athletic sock or compression sock underneath the liner. This absorbs sweat, prevents skin chafing, maintains hygiene, and keeps the liner cleaner for longer
How do I put the walker boot on properly?
Having been fitted properly by your trained medical provider to reapply after removal:
- Position your foot: Sit down and open all the Velcro straps and the fabric liner. Place your foot into the liner, sliding your heel firmly against the back and bottom of the boot.
- Wrap the liner: Wrap the fabric liner snugly around your foot and ankle, securing its Velcro closures.
- Secure the straps: Close the plastic outer shell panels if applicable. Fasten the outer Velcro straps starting from the bottom (toes) and moving up toward the shin to ensure even compression.
